Back in the Saddle Again

After about a two month break I am back in the saddle again, trying to find a job. I actually have two interviews next week. I'm a little afraid it might be too early, but hey, you never know what will happen. But if any of you wonderful blog readers hear of any marketing jobs opening in D.C. or Baltimore, please let me know!

Hot-Lanta

This past weekend I went to the ATL to celebrate Zach's sister's bachlorette weekend. The past couple times I have been in Georgia I was hanging out at the lake, so this was the first real time out went out in the city. We stayed in Buckhead which is to Atlanta like like Arlington is to D.C. Its still the city, but removed enough from the big city to be more relaxed.

I absolutely adore Zach's cousins. They are a bunch of cool girls so I had a great time with all of them. Friday we through Becky a lingerie shower. Her MOH created a "menu" for the groom - a cute nickname for all the gifts that he gets to "order" from on the honeymoon. I thought that was really cute.

Saturday indulged in a super girly day. Brunch, shopping, and my new obsession ... DRY BAR. Dry Bar is a salon that just gives you fabulous blow outs. I thought a blow out was just making your hair super straight, but they actually have lots of options. They wash your hair, then blow it out. You can either go super straight, get beach waves, southern big curls, or normal curls. I went with the Cosmopolitan and felt like an absolute rock star. An awesome hairdo and 2 complimentary glasses of mimosas for $35 ... what a steal!!

Saturday night we hit the town, and Sunday morning was a bit rough. Happy Bachlorette!!

I've got great friends

I'm currently sitting at ronald regan national airport waiting for my first flight of 2012. After an insane amount of flying in 2011 I am not upset about this. It's been a crazy week at work but I wanted to share a picture from last weekend before this weekend begins.

Last weekend a good group of people met up Saturday afternoon in D.C. My wonderful friends agreed to try Standard with me but it was packed with St. Patrick's Day celebrators so we just grabbed a burger at a random place down the street and then headed to Local 16 for a beer and some rooftop action. Per usual it was awesome to get caught up wih everyone. DC has had two amazing weeks of beautiful weather so you can't beet that.

Happy Friday everyone! Super jealous of everyone who is seeing hunger games!

Okay update ... I just realized i'm on my phone and I can't upload pictures. Lame :/

Wedding Wednesday - Engagement Shoot

Yesterday I got the cd from my cousin with all our engagement photos. I got about half way through before I broke down and called her shouting for joy. I absolutely love them! I thought taking engagement photos would be really awkward, because it seems like you are forcing yourself to be all cutesy and lovey. Drew made us feel so comfortable and we had so much fun! And I am glad she didn't force us into poses because she did take a couple kiss shots, and they were not attractive hahaha. If you are in North Carolina and need a photographer I would highly recommend my cousin Drew. She is soooo incredible!!

On the bridesmaid front I just booked my flight to Nashville for Kimmy's big weekend. Yay!

Operation Look Good in a Skin Tight Bridesmaids Dress

Must look presentable in above dress by May 5. Operation Look Good started this week.

1. Get back into running again. Having to move inside to a treadmill this winter has really taken a toll on my running. So far two for two this week on good morning runs.

2. Stop making cupcakes via pinterest, and start doing toning exercises via pinterest.

3. Start using a tanning lotion situation. Preferably one that doesn’t make me look like a freak. Thank you Jergins Natural Glow.

Wish me luck!

Taxes

In an attempt to act grown-up, and save my poor dad some time, I did my taxes for the very first time today. It was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be, but who knows if I did it correctly.

A big plus, we now have a very nice start to the honeymoon fun. Yeah baby!

Skinny Cupcakes??

You win again Pintrest! I had stumbled upon this skinny cupcake recipe a couple weeks ago, and obviously, if you give me something with funfetti cake mix, I am going to want to try it. However, it wasn’t until last week that I found one of its essential ingredients – Diet Cherry 7-Up. The planets all aligned and my cousin and I made these this past Friday night. They are only 1.5 Weight Watchers points, so I didn’t have much faith that they were going to be good, but upon eating the first cupcake Zach declared it as the best cupcake he ever had … success!!

These cupcakes are super easy to make. Take Funfetti cake mix, and just combine it with 12 oz. of Diet Cherry 7-cup. Bake those puppies in the oven, and while they are baking mix half a container of fat-free cool whip with a full box of fat-free pudding mix (we chose cheesecake). After your cupcakes have cooled, ice them with your cool whip frosting and you are good to go!

(sorry for the overload on me me me photos. My cousin is sending me sneak peaks of the engagement shoot and I am sooooooooo happy!!)

Smile Monday

Hello everyone! I hope your Monday mornings haven't been too rough. My insanely talented cousin Drew trained up this past weekend from North Carolina to take Zach and my's engagement photos. She sent me a couple of sneak peeks on the train and I can't wait to see the finished product!

Oh and here is another shot of my super cute nephew sent to me this morning. What a smile!

Happy Friday - Capitol Hill Edition

I took a little jaunt durning my lunch break today. Lunchtime joggers - while I envy you, I am at a complete loss of how that works. You really change, run, change again, and return to your desk totally composed in one hour? I.think.not. Oh well. Happy Friday!

Standard

Last year I was planning a get together with a friend who lives downtown and she started going on and on about this amazing beer garden she stumbled upon near her house. So ask, well where is it M? Whats it called? She had no idea, haha.

This morning I was going through a DC Daily Candy email and they were advertsing the spring opening of Standard, M's mysterious beer garden. It gets even better - they serve delicious looking bbq and hushpuppies. Please tell me what could be better than sitting on a porch on a beautiful day, drinking a beer and eating hushpuppies?? No really, whats better than that?

Okay who is coming with me?
