My commute
Reason 875 why I love this city - there is currently a pizza and beer party going on in my Marc train. Currently trying to figure out how I can become friends with these people.

Mint.com
When I get off track on things and I know I am being bad, I am a big believer in avoidance. Been eating awful for weeks on end? I avoid the scale like the plague. I just don’t want to know how bad it is.
This holds true for my money management skills too. With my travel/wedding schedule ramping up I know I am putting out more than I am taking in. Yesterday I decided to give myself a reality check. I wrote down all my major expenses coming up until December (there are a lot of them), and then logged back on to my Mint.com account that had not been accessed in months!! Mint.com is a budgeting website that links to all your financial accounts to you can see exactly where your money is going and how bad or good you have been. I am highly motivated to make sure I have enough money to move into our new apartment a couple weeks before the wedding, so I wanted to make sure I was saving enough to do so. Hopefully I can stick to my Mint budget and will be good to go once November comes around. Can’t wait!!

Nationals Park
Just found out I'm headed to a Nationals game for the second Friday in a row ... for free. Score! And like last week, I am not rocking a cute outfit. This normally wouldn't be a problem for a sporting event, but Nationals Park is kinda like Elon; its the preppiest stadium I've every seen.
If you need me, I'll be the girl in jeans and a t-shirt drinking a beer at The Bullpen.
Happy Friday everyone.

Insanity Day 1
Zach and I started Insanity this morning. For those who don't know (and I only know because the Infomerical came on while I was working in in Zach's gym) Insanity is this crazy workout routine ... kinda like an extreme P90x. I was worried, and I guess for good reason. By the end end of the workout, I pulled a full on Biggest Loser and puked in the bathroom (sorry for being graphic).
The workout lasts 60 days - wish us luck!!

Sculpture Garden & Mellow Mushroom
Thank you everyone for the wonderful birthday love! Bringing in 28 was simply great. I showered with love, including a shout out from my oh-too-cute nephew. He's killing it!!
In the afternoon I walked along the National Mall and walked through the Sculpture Gardens for the very first time. I don't know what took me so long. That place is awesome!! They have a complete to size replica of a Parisian Metro sign. J'ADORE!!!
Zach and I celebrated with dinner at Mellow Mushroom in Adams Morgan. My North Carolina friends have been raving about this place forever, so when I saw it come to DC I knew we had to try it out. The pizza was phenomenal. Great flavors, great beers ... we even ordered a pie to go (yes I gained 5lbs on my birthday, no big deal)!
So excited for everything 28 has to bring. Love you all!!

Wedding Wednesday - Honeymoon!

Zach and I booked our honeymoon last night. Yippee! Can we go now??
We both agreed that we could go anywhere for the honeymoon. Although I would have ADORED an European vacation, I had to realize that type of vacation is wonderful, but not necessarily relaxing. After considering that we quickly decided high tailing it to an all inclusive resort somewhere warm would be the ticket for us.
We started off looking at St. Lucia, because several friends had gone and highly recommended it. However our honeymoon will be over Thanksgiving week, and most of the resorts were already booked! Geez, people. Then a couple weeks ago, two of Zach's friends recommended the Couple's resorts in Jamaica. They were all gorgeous looking, and EVERYTHING is included in the deal. After reading multiple reviews that confirmed everything Zach's friends had said, we decided on Couples San Souci. It is supposed to be the most romantic resort (aww) with the best spa in the Caribbean. A couple massage and couples mani/pedi is already worked into the schedule ;)
I really think it is going to be the perfect way to start are lives as Mr. & Mrs.

Celebration!!

Well kids, its official ... I have secured a full time job!!!! Friday I was mailed an official offer letter to start as the Meetings & Sponsorship Coordinator for a lawyers association in Columbia, MD. I don't need to start until my Gala is finished, and I am still in shock that everything went so quickly. I am beyond relieved that I will have a permanent place to go to work everyday, and am so thankful to all the wonderful people in my life that supported me through this whole ordeal!

I had another interview in the city on Friday and my boss told me that I could take the rest of the day off. I embraced the beautiful day and kicked off my weekend of celebrations. After my interview I walked into Georgetown and caught an afternoon screening of The Hunger Games. I thought it was pretty good. I mean I am obsessed with the book, but they definitely did not butcher it in the movie. I will be excited to see the next two installments.
After the movie I walked to my favorite, Lauriol Plaza, to meet Zach and his friends for dinner. I had some time to kill before they came so I treated myself to some swirl margaritas and a Key Lime cake ball from Dean & Deluca ... yum!

Saturday Zach and I drove to Old Town Alexandria to surprise two of his friends for a 30th birthday celebration. Once the birthday boys were surprised a large group of us took the ferry over to National Harbor and spent the night at Bobby McKeys Piano Bar. It was a blast! You can't beat a piano bar in my opinon. One of the piano players did an amazing Shaggy impersonation.

After church on Sunday Zach, Riley and I headed to my sister's new town home to officially celebrate Easter with the family. Janet went all out, just figuring out Pintrest, and created an amazing meal for all of us. Her fiance and I share the same birthday, so we wrapped that celebration in as well.
Over all it was an amazing weekend full of wonderful celebrations. Happy Easter everyone!

If my 24 year old self could see me now ...
Sitting across a desk from the Executive Director of an association I interviewed with this morning ...He looks at my salary history, looks up at me and goes, "Damn girl! You made bank!"
If I knew then what I know now haha ...

Tuesday Thruths

1. I made soft tacos for Zach on Sunday. When he realized what we were having he looked at me like I was the most amazing woman who ever lived.
2. When my spin teacher said (before 6:00 a.m. in the morning) "This song will have two 20 second sprints and one 40 second sprints. They say you should never do sprints longer than 30 seconds, but I believe in you guys..." I wanted to get off my bike and slap her.
3. I have 3 interviews this week! Yay!
4. After the 2 week sneak peek of spring I am ready to have it back full time. Let's leave the North Face in the closet please.
5. My mom is one of 9 siblings and Zach's mom is one of 7. Our wedding guest numbers are giving me anxiety :/
6. I think we settled on a honeymoon local - can I go now?
