The Loft
Every now and then I get the shopping itch. I can go awhile with out buying new clothes, but then I go a little overboard. It is not good for the pocketbook!! Well the itch started this past weekend when I was in Annapolis I realized I forgot my work pants for Monday morning. My good resolution was instead of heading home was to go to the mall and buy a new work outfit (that makes sense right?). Well long story made short, I had one more margarita when I should have on Saturday night, and I was not in the mood to do any shopping. Fast forward to Monday afternoon when my sister calls me during work to tell me about the new dresses she bought for our summer weddings. Compound that with the email from the Loft promoting 30% off dresses, I headed straight there after work. My shopping urge took over and did not stop at the dress. Uh oh! So look out for my fun new summer pieces.
One Year
The Polynesian
So about three weeks before I was supposed to head to Orlando, Zach found out that he had to go to Tampa for business at the same time. Yay! For those who are horrible at Florida geography like I am, that means only an one hour distance. Saturday morning Zach dropped his boss off at the airport and drove down (up, over ?? like I said I don’t know geography) and met me at the Waldorf. Being the amazing boyfriend that he is, he told me to be ready for a surprise Saturday night activity. After an afternoon at the pool we got dressed and headed to Downtown Disney.
Now I haven’t been to Disney World since I was four years old. Which I think was really silly on my parents. I mean the only thing I remember about the trip was loving the Dumbo ride and crying my eyes out on a mountain coaster. Oh yeah, and I got lost. Do over please!!
But I digress. We grabbed a margarita and then popped into some stores to grab a souvenir. As an early house warming gift I picked out a print of Mickey and Miney sitting on the beach. We then headed to the surprise location. The Polynesian! It was one of the Disney hotels designed to look like an island getaway. We ate at a delicious Brazilian steak house where the waiters came out and served you food off of sticks. The best part of the night came when we exited the restaurant onto the hotel’s beach and watched the Disney World closing fireworks. It was very Full House goes to Disney and I loved it!
Orlando
Sorry for the temporary absence. On St. Patrick’s Day I headed down to Orlando, Florida for my first big meeting with my new job. After asking questions for the past couple of months, and getting back the answer “You just have to be there”, I was excited to get down to the meeting and figure everything out. Planning meetings for lawyers certainly has some perks. We stayed at the Waldorf Astoria, and it was gorgeous. I walked into my room and was greeted with a complimentary bottle of wine, and a view of the golf course. But my biggest perk of the trip had to be the meeting itself. It actually went very smoothly. The attendees were easy going, only a couple of divas in the bunch, and the meeting sessions went off with out a hitch. The only mere complication came when our President accidentally hit his head at our Friday Luau and had to get checked by the paramedics. By the end of the night he was asking to see the hula girls, so he was just fine. I am now much more confident in my self at this job, so all in all Orlando was a success. Hopefully by the time the next meeting comes around I will be much more relaxed, and it will go even better!

My Office
I am currently in my office right now surrounded by walls and walls of boxes. The law firm my company subleases space from is moving offices today, and therefore, so are we. Its not a crazy move, just to the building next store, but it comes the friday before our big conference in Orlando, Florida. So its kinda a big pain in the ass. Trying to meet deadlines when your office is in all sorts of dismemberment is sort of tricky.
Right now I am killing time before the I.T. people come and take away my computer. I am hoping with the new move my computer will loose its pent up anger twoards me will subside. And start delivering emails to me on time. Please computer . . . please! My boss left packing till the last minute, so she will not be giving me any of the edits I need to get my Orlando work done; its a vicious cycle.
Hopefully the move goes smoothly!
