Wrightsville Beach, NC

This past weekend I was in Wrightsville Beach to celebrate my cousin's Bachelorette Weekend. Her bridal party is basically all family, and our family grew up going to the beach together about a half an hour away from Wrightsville, so it was a nice little trip down not-quite memory lane.

Wrightsville's beach is huge. Our condo was on the seventh floor, overlooking the ocean, and it just seemed like the beach and the water went on for days (even at high tide). I was very impressed!

Drew just wanted a relaxing weekend at the beach and I think we accomplished that. Friday after we all got in we headed to a Mexican restaurant downtown. It kind of looked like a dive but the food was delicious. We then went back to the condo and surprised her with a honeymoon shower. She's now dressed to impress for any tropical location they may choose for their honeymoon.

Friday it rained like cats and dogs, and Saturday morning we woke up to fog that limited us from seeing two feet in front of us. It wasn't looking good but by 9:00 am the sun came out and it turned out to be a perfect beach day. We sat on the beach for 8 hours and didn't have to worry about fighting for a good spot on the beach or having to move our stuff back because the surf was coming in. The definition of a relaxing day. After the beach we got all dolled up and hopped in the limo for dinner in downtown Wilmington. The food was delicious and ambiance made me feel like we were in New York.

The majority of my cousin's bridal party is older, so we felt bad that we might be a bit boring. Turns out my cousin loves to go to strip clubs, so that was the final surprise of the evening. People watching at its finest people. She seemed genuinely shocked and had a great evening. Mission accomplished.

Three weeks to go till the wedding!
